le grand parle ouere 01

Le Grand parle-ouère will be three days of discussions where everyone is invited to reflect on today and tomorrow’s Acadie.

Objectives of Le Grand parle-ouère:

  •       discuss matters relating to Acadians and those interested in Acadian culture;
  •       use participants’ resources and ideas so that they pursue their community commitments;
  •       suggest various options to deal with matters discussed and inspire participants and Acadian communities.

Three days of discussions will offer an opportunity to discuss topics you have selected! Everything will be addressed! Come and share your ideas on these topics on August 18 and 19.

-       Linguistic Security: Why am I afraid to speak with my accent?*

-       New forms of engagement in the age of social media

-       Acadie and Ecology: Communities, territories and science

-       Acadian identity today*

-       Education in French: From early childhood to post-secondary education

-       How to foster Acadie’s economic development?

-       Passing on the French language in North America: A daily challenge*

On August 18 and 19, resource people, equally familiar with theory and implementation in practice, will be on site to provide support. You are the most important part of these discussions! The following video explains how each discussion session will be conducted based on the topics you have selected.

On August 20, last day of Le Grand parle-ouère, participate in an open forum and answer the following question “For me, the future of Acadie lies in …”. This is a unique opportunity to be at the helm. In an entirely open setting, don’t miss this chance to discuss what’s most important to you! This original concept allows anyone to suggest a group discussion that will call upon collective knowledge and that will leave lots of space for participants’ priorities and creativity. Professionals will be on site to guide you, but it’s your voice that matters!

Take over the premises at Université de Moncton to discuss Acadie-related themes.
