Intergenerational Day

Gathering of Francophone seniors

The Intergenerational Day is a unique and important component of the Congrès mondial acadien 2019. It will be held on August 16 at Université de Moncton, Moncton campus in the morning, and at Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB), Dieppe campus in the afternoon. The event is organized by the Association francophone des aînés du Nouveau-Brunswick (AFANB) and the Association des universités du troisième âge du Nouveau-Brunswick (AUTANB), but you don’t need to be a member of these organizations to take part in the CMA 2019 Intergenerational Day!

Why an IntergenerationalDay?

The morning will start at Université de Moncton by gathering seniors and participants of Paré Pour, the CMA youth event bringing together young people aged 12 to 18. The two groups from different generations will attend one of the many workshops during which seniors will learn from young participants, and vice versa! The objective is to share life stories, experiences and expertise.

The afternoon will continue at CCNB where participants aged 50 and older will gather to discuss important topics more specific to them while taking part in workshops. Although young people will only take part in morning activities, the intergenerational component will continue with a workshop on La Barque,an intergenerational community project, as well as two other workshops on language and aging.
