Breakfast on own
Visit to village of Pays de la Sagouine, Bouctouche (a village of Acadian life on an island in Bouctouche, NB with re-enactments throughout the day by characters from the books of Antonine Maillet)
9:30 a.m.
Bus leaves hotel
Lunch on your own at the village (La Panaterie, an Acadian canteen on the island, serving hotdogs, lobster rolls etc., or one of the full restaurants nearby)
3:00 p.m.
Bus leaves village and returns to hotel
6:00 – 10 p.m.
Dinner
Multipurpose Center, Shediac , Dinner Speaker: Ronnie-Gilles LeBlanc, former Archivist at the Centre d’études acadiennes, Université of Moncton and Historian at Parks Canada Forest Family in South-East New Brunswick in the 18th and 19th Centuries (“The Forests of Beaubassin ” before 1755, those who escaped deportation, those who stayed in Acadia, meaning in the refugee camps, and those thereafter who established themselves in Québec, Louisiana, and Menoudie, Nova Scotia)
