Program

12:30 am :
- Welcome
- Registration
- Introduction of the members of the reunion’s organizing committee

1:30 pm – 2:30 pm :
- Conference given by Albert J. Cyr, amateur genealogist of the 10th generation – The Cyr
- Crocs and travels Acadie/Quebec/Acadie/Madawaska

2:30 pm – 3:30 pm :
- Storytelling and reenactments of the life of our ancestors from the Cyr family’s 3 branches
- Presentation on migrations, deportation and travels.
- Presentation on “Billets d’Acadie,” a form of money used to pay Acadian workers from 1750 to 1760
- Presentation on the Vincent family and their journey

3:30 pm – 4:30 pm :
- Workshop on learning how to identify to which branch of the Cyr family you belong.

4:30 pm – 5:30 pm :
- Group photo
- Toast to celebrate our reunion

On the menu for supper
- Stew (fricot), choice of chicken or egg salad sandwiches, dessert “pets de sœur,” coffee/tea
- Delicious Ployes to add to your menu (traditional dish from l'Acadie des Terres et Forêts) for purchase on site
- Cash bar
- Music and singers

5:30 pm :
- First seating – reserve your place when you register

6:15 pm :
- Second seating – reserve your place when you register

8:00 pm - 10:00 pm :
-Music, storytellers, singers and group sing-alongs – let us know if you would like to perform and if you need an instrument (send us an email or post on Facebook).

There will be activities for young people throughout the day. Let us know if you would like to help us with these. The registration fee is $20 and includes all activities on the program. This fee is non-refundable. If the hall capacity allows for it, we will accept late registrations on-site. These must be paid in cash or by cheque. There will be several reunion mementos for sale throughout the day such as genealogical and historical booklets about the Cyr family, migration maps and placemats describing the migrations of Alexis Cyr and Acadian families (cash or cheque payments only).
